Therapy with Jade (she/her)
POPULATION: Kids/teens 12+, individuals, caregiver & family support
LOCATION: In person at Loch Raven Office (Towson), Telehealth (MD)
TRAUMA FOCUS/SPECIALTY AREAS: PTSD, Complex PTSD (CPTSD), Developmental trauma, Adoption/foster care issues, Chronic illness/cancer or other serious illness (medical trauma), abuse/neglect, sexual violence (abuse, rape, assault), Vicarious trauma as result from workplace, Grief/loss, Trauma experienced as result of your racial, cultural, sexual, or gender identity, Trauma experienced as result of neurodiversity or disability, Attachment issues, Relationship or boundary issues.
TRAINING & THERAPEUTIC APPROACH: Typically, I am not the first therapist my clients have worked with before. My clients have a history of working with a variety of mental health professionals, resulting in multiple mental health diagnoses because complex trauma likes to “mask” as other disorders. Using a combination of Somatic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Attachment-based Therapy, Adoption Competent Therapy, parts work, and lived experience I collaborate with my clients to regain control over their lives and heal from trauma. By strengthening the mind-body connection, I help clients learn how to regulate their nervous system and turn off the fight-flight response. I am a human before I am a therapist. I believe that transparency between client and therapist is a key element in establishing a strong therapeutic relationship. Trust is always earned, never given. I am also in the process of getting trained in CBT-I for insomnia so stay tuned!
WE MAY BE A GOOD FIT IF… you’ve tried a variety of different therapy modalities with little relief, you’re interested in learning more about how your trauma impacts your daily life, or looking for a therapist that balances “meeting you where you’re at” and challenging you to break out of your comfort zone, wanting your therapist to understand the complexities of intersectional identities.
OUTSIDE OF WORK YOU’LL FIND ME… rock climbing, going to concerts, working on my latest hyperfixation art project, spending time with friends, & listening to audiobooks.
