LOCATION: In person at Loch Raven Office and Bel Air Office, Telehealth in MD + DC
TRAUMA FOCUS/SPECIALTY AREAS: PTSD, abuse/neglect, Divorce/separation, Trauma experienced as result of neurodiversity or disability, Bullying or social isolation, Attachment issues, Developmental Trauma, Relationship or boundary issues, Caregivers/families of neurodivergent youth
TRAINING & THERAPEUTIC APPROACH: Trauma manifests differently in children and teenagers compared to adults. Divorce or separation can leave children/teens feeling voiceless amid the chaos of changing family dynamics. Growing up as a neurodivergent person in a neurotypical world can feel isolating, scary, and create a sense of “not being enough.” Young individuals lack the language to express what they are experiencing, which can lead to behavioral challenges, mood instability, sensory issues, impulsivity, and social difficulties. Trauma-centered play therapy allows kids and teens to process their experiences and learn new skills in a way that resonates with them—through play.
If you are an adult child of divorce, we can explore how divorce impacts your daily life, sense of self, and relationships with others. If you are a neurodivergent individual that resonates with feeling like you were the “odd one out” as a kid or have received a diagnosis later in life, we will work together to identify and process the unique traumatic experiences that often accompany growing up undiagnosed or unaware in a neurotypical world. Using a Neurodivergent Affirming Therapy approach means recognizing your abilities as strengths while addressing the challenges that come with them.
I am here to guide you and/or your child through the therapeutic journey. I understand that every person has unique needs, and I tailor my therapeutic approach to meet you or your child where you are.
WE MAY BE A GOOD FIT IF… you or your child are experiencing challenges adapting to a world after a traumatic event, you or your child need help navigating divorce/separation issues, you are an adult child of divorce struggling with your relationships with others, or you are a neurodivergent individual who was raised to “fit” into a neurotypical world.
OUTSIDE OF WORK YOU’LL FIND ME… walking my dog, enjoying time with family and friends, going to the gym, or reading a book.
