Barbara (she/her) is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Certified Cognitive Processing Therapy Provider (CPT-P), and Certified Associate Counselor-Alcohol and Drug (CAC-AD) in Maryland. She is the Director of The Center For Trauma Therapy and a board-approved supervisor for those holding Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) credentials. Barbara earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Management at Grand Canyon University in 2014 and Master’s Degree from Liberty University in 2017.

With a diverse background in criminal justice, community outreach, addiction recovery, parenting classes, schools, and individual and family therapy, Barbara has extensive experience working with clients from all walks of life. Whether helping children, adults, or families, Barbara is dedicated to guiding clients toward their fullest potential and healing. 

As a therapist, Barbara is committed to helping clients uncover the core causes of their struggles through empathy, encouragement, and a nonjudgmental approach. With this support, clients can unlock their potential, set and achieve personal goals, and find healing through evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). Barbara will be starting the certification process for EMDR this winter so stay tuned!

POPULATION: Adults 18+, Substance use & addiction, Women experiencing domestic violence

LOCATION: Telehealth only (MD)

TRAUMA FOCUS/SPECIALTY AREAS: PTSD, abuse/neglect, sexual violence (abuse, rape, assault), Intimate partner/domestic violence, Grief/loss, Substance use & addiction, Relationship or boundary issues, Incarceration, Divorce/separation.

TRAINING & THERAPEUTIC APPROACH: We often find ourselves stuck when dealing with addictions, trauma, and all the challenges life can throw at us. My intention as your therapist is to access the core cause of your adversity through empathy, encouragement, and prejudice-free listening to help you reach your potential, achieve personal goals, and find healing using Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). I would be deeply honored to be a part of your story, your journey, and your healing.

WE MAY BE A GOOD FIT IF… you are willing to commit to doing assignments in between sessions and open to examining the areas that you’re stuck and wanting to rewire your thought process.

OUTSIDE OF WORK YOU’LL FIND ME… teaching bible study classes at my local church, making paper crafts, and learning how to ride my motorcycle.
