“Your life is your story. Write well. Edit often.” — Susan Statham

Liesl (she/her) is a Licensed Master Social Work (LMSW), Certified Associate Counselor-Alcohol and Drug (CAC-AD), and Certified Experiential Therapist - Level 1 in Maryland. Liesl earned her Bachelor’s Degree in International Studies from Towson University in 1991, Associate’s Degree in Counseling in Human Services from Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) in 2021, and Master’s Degree from University of Maryland - Baltimore School of Social Work in 2023.

Social work is a second career for Liesl, one that she was inspired to pursue after witnessing the profound impact of compassionate support in people's lives. Liesl’s journey began in counseling, where she initially worked as an alcohol and drug counselor. It wasn't long before she encountered many individuals whose struggles with addiction were deeply rooted in early childhood trauma. This realization fueled Liesl’s passion for understanding and addressing co-occurring disorders.

With experience in both residential and outpatient settings, Liesl has had the privilege of working closely with individuals as they navigated the complexities of recovery. Liesl is deeply committed to the healing process, focusing on the real work of recovery, and supporting individuals in reclaiming the lives they were meant to lead. Liesl is a Brainspotting Practitioner, completing phase 1 & 2 of the training certification process. Liesl will complete the certification requirements in 2025. Liesl is supervised by Jade Shapiro, LCSW-C, CCTP-II.
