“Life beats down and crushes the soul and art reminds you that you have one.” – Stella Adler
Sam (she/her) is a Licensed Clinical Professional Art Therapist (LCPAT) and Board-Certified Registered Art Therapist (ATR-BC) in Maryland. Sam supervises graduate students working towards becoming art therapists and professional counselors. Sam earned her Bachelor’s Degree Fine Art from Towson University of Maryland in 2016 and Master’s Degree in Art Therapy from Notre Dame of Maryland University in 2021.
Sam started her career as an art educator working in public schools in 2016 and was inspired by school counselors to begin a career in art therapy, which she began practicing in 2018 at a nonprofit hospice center and later pediatric oncology and hematology inpatient unit. Sam has experience working with children as young as 6 years old to the last stages of life in hospice and bereavement care. Her journey as a creative individual living with Type 1 Diabetes inspires her commitment to supporting others through trauma-based art therapy.

TRAINING & THERAPEUTIC APPROACH: Using an integrative approach that combines the Expressive Therapies Continuum, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Narrative Therapy, and Strengths-based processing through Art Therapy, I support my clients with retelling and processing their life experiences. This collaborative process promotes healing and the rewiring of neural pathways. Expressive methods are used to help foster healthier connections with emotions and memories, while creating a safe and supportive space for clients to explore and express them freely. I invite you to share your story in a way that feels comfortable for you, helping to uncover healing and resilience along the way.
WE MAY BE A GOOD FIT IF… you struggle with talk therapy, but are open to exploring new methods of reflection.
OUTSIDE OF WORK YOU’LL FIND ME… hiking, hanging out with my cats and plants, or playing Minecraft.
