Outpatient Addiction Therapy

Heal your whole self.

Towson, MD | Online

Does it feel like bad things that happened to you and your addiction are tied together in a big knot?

Recovering from addiction isn’t easy. You go without drinking, using drugs, gambling, whatever your addiction is, for a while. Then a trigger pops up, and the urges overwhelm you. You relapse. When you try to face the painful things you’ve gone through, you cope with it by returning to your addiction. When you try to stop the addiction, you can’t cope with the bad stuff that happened. Many places treat addiction or trauma, not both, so half of what’s going on is always going unaddressed.

You’re tired of feeling caught in this cycle:

  • You reach sobriety, and you’re working hard to maintain it.

  • Something happens that reminds you of painful memories from the past.

  • You feel overwhelming urges to return to the addiction.

Common questions about outpatient addiction therapy

  • At The Center for Trauma Therapy, we only offer outpatient services. If you are in need of inpatient, partial hospitalization, or intensive outpatient, we are not the place for you right now. When you are ready for outpatient, we’re here.
If you’re not sure what the right setting is for you, we can help you determine that in a consultation.

  • In addition to addiction to drugs and alcohol, we work with what are called “behavioral addictions.” These include shopping, gambling, and more. Schedule a free consultation with us to talk more about if we’re a good fit for the addiction you’re struggling with.

  • If the bad things that happened are still bothering or affecting your life, yes. Whether it happened in your childhood or adulthood, during the course of your addiction or before or after, it’s enough. You deserve to recover.
